ARC-FLASH also owns fixation technologies of textile processing besides the one of direct spraying. In fact, R&D of the former technology started much earlier than the latter one. Early in 1990, the developers of ARC-FLASH had begun the research of how to fix Photocatalyst on textiles and make it durable against repetitive wash by machines. When the first international conference on TiO2 Photocatalyst was held in Canada in 1992, the base of ARC-FLASH was also established and began to market the well-developed and commercialized Photocatalytic-processed textiles. Several years later, more and more ARC-FLASH Photocatalytic-processed products including towels, bath towels, handkerchiefs, socks, clothes, caps and shoes came into the market. These processed products can be washed for 150 times by machines without destroying the Photocatalyst effects, and will stay much cleaner and whiter than normal textiles. In addition, they will not get moldy to become a contagious source of disease.
In recent years, with the spraying service of ARC-FLASH has been widely adopted by more than 300 public hospitals in Japan, medical professionals also turn to use Photocatalytic medical equipments (doctor uniforms, operation suits, gloves, doctor caps and shoecovers etc.), which can be sterilized by exposure of light regularly to decrease the cost of purchasing sterilizing and disinfecting equipments to a great extent.
